Design. There are many definitions of design today, and industrial design is a profession very much in transition. "Design as applied problem solving", "user centered design", and the list goes on and on and on.
Design is a key ingredient for the success of a product or a service. In my professional practice, I work more and more in the area of design management as well as rapid concept generation when out in the field with a client. 

Photography. The power of images is deeply fascinating to me. In a fast-paced world, the viewfinder allows us to stand still and capture a moment in it's inherent beauty. Academic work. Teaching design and it's intricate processes is a passion. Working with the students to bring out the great talents in everybody is greatly satisfying. Over the last few years, I have had the great fortune to be working with some really talented young designers. Courses taught include studio work at the junior, sophomore and senior level, as well as introduction workshops to industrial design.
